Love Violence Algorithms - collection of experimental texts by Anton Hoyer

This collection of experimental prose is continuously expanding. Each text contains only words that adhere to a specific rule I defined in advance, which is also known as constrained writing.

Usually, I start by writing a Python script that searches an English dictionary for words following my predefined rule. I select the useful words and categorize them. With granular statements in mind, I construct coherent sentences, aiming to utilize as many of the words as possible, but each not too often. Ironically, I find that employing a severely limited vocabulary enhances creativity, as connections become more evident. However, expect the results to be experimental because I prioritize following the rule over conforming to language conventions. For example, I enjoy blending colloquialisms with formalities, modern vocabulary with outdated terms, and even American, British, and Scottish English. And as of 2025, German, French, and bevisst forlenget Norwegian joined the litter.

People keep asking whether I will eventually exhaust my supply of rules. I don’t believe I ever will.

Where deemed necessary, I provided sparse clarifications, stylized as subtle footnotes at the bottom of each text, so as not to spoil the fun for independent-minded readers.
